It's included in the Objects-Bijoux collection. The two designers were influenced by the popular belief according which, keeping a horse chestnut in your pocket is supposed to ward off colds. The flat lid rotates on a little pivot, allowing the box to be closed with just one hand.

Although this kind of wine cooler was already used in the Renaissance (we can see something similar in the paintings of the time) it is inspired by the Vasque of the French wine tradition.
